VivaCell in Armenia was an outstanding success story achieved by MDIC. VivaCell operation was launched in 2005, became the market leader in less than six months and in just two years managed to cross the 1 million subscribers mark with more than 65% market share.

Starting a sixth mobile operator in South Sudan in 2008 would be considered as “mission impossible”, especially in respect of the lack of basic infrastructure following more than 20 years of civil war, the scarcity of resources and the competition with operators covering all Sudan areas with millions of subscribers. MDIC, however, trusted by the investors, took the challenge, assembled a team and embarked on planning, launching and building Vivacell operation in Southern Sudan.

Following the takeover in 2001 of Karabakh Telecom (KT), the legacy and monopoly operator serving Nagorno Karabah, MDIC was assigned the task of rebuilding the company, restoring much needed proper telecom services and building a mobile network.
